BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A juvenile recently led law enforcement on a chase through four counties.

Bladen County 911 received a call in reference to larceny of a vehicle on Wednesday. The victim said a black male wearing a ski mask had just taken their vehicle from Elizabethtown.

Deputies observed a vehicle matching the description of the stolen vehicle near NC 53 and NC 242 right outside of Elizabethtown. The deputy activated their lights and sirens to conduct a vehicle stop, when the suspect fled off at more than 100 miles per hour, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The suspect’s vehicle traveled NC 53 all the way to I-95 in Cumberland County. The suspect then exited onto I-95 northbound. The vehicle fled I-95 to I-40 where the suspect exited onto I-40 and continued westbound.

The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office, Wake County Sheriff’s Office and North Carolina State Highway Patrol were then contacted to assist. The suspect exited onto Rock Quarry Road, at which time NCSHP took over the vehicle pursuit. The suspect’s vehicle struck a utility pole at which time NCSHP took the suspect into custody without incident.

It was revealed the suspect was a 13-year-old male juvenile. The juvenile denied any injuries. However, out of precaution and due to his age the juvenile was transported to Wake Medical. Once released, the juvenile will be charged by The Department of Juvenile Justice and placed in secure custody at one of their juvenile facilities.
