13-year-old girl in Wilmington allegedly attacked by three teens using airsoft guns
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A 13-year-old was allegedly attacked by three older teenage boys over the weekend.
According to the mom’s post on Facebook and the community app Nextdoor, it happened Sunday afternoon in the Fox Run Farm neighborhood north of Monkey Junction at the intersection of Weybridge and Devonshire Lanes.
The mother claims three teenage boys a allegedly attacked her 13-year-old daughter with air soft guns while wearing ski masks.
We contacted the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office.
A spokesman confirms it happened around 4:55 p.m. and that three teens had a weapon.
Fia Binford said she’s lived in the neighborhood for three years and was shocked to hear of the alleged attack.
“It’s super safe, we’ve got a lot of great families, got people of all ages, different backgrounds, so it’s really, I would say atypical, to hear of anything bad happening in our neighborhood. It’s pretty great, so,” she said.
The spokesperson for the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office said the case is still under investigation.
We reached out to the mother who shared the post but have not heard back at this time.
