Bolton man accused of growing marijuana

BOLTON, NC (WWAY) – A Columbus County Sheriff’s Office Vice-Narcotics Unit investigation into a marijuana growing operation ended with an arrest Monday.

A Columbus County Sheriff’s Office news release said investigators conducted surveillance on a suspected property on Gaston Sellers Road in the Bolton community. There, they said they found several marijuana plants growing outside the home, and more processed marijuana inside the home.

They arrested Byron Scott Stevens, 40, and took him to the Columbus County Detention Center where is under a $10,000 secured bond. He is charged with one count of manufacturing marijuana.
