15 hurt in van crash on I-40
BENSON, NC (WTVD) — Fifteen people were injured in a single-vehicle crash involving a large passenger van on I-40 West in Johnston County Saturday morning.
Officials say the van’s tire blew causing the driver to lose control and hit the median guardrail. The van then overturned in the westbound travel lanes at mile marker 329 near Benson.
Troopers said nine adults and six children were injured. Thirteen of the passengers had to be taken to the hospital. Troopers said the injuries didn’t appear to be serious.
