2 Point brothers sentenced in gang-related stabbing, 3rd on the run

WILMINGTON, NC (StarNews) — Two Wilmington brothers were sentenced to up to four years in prison Monday in a 2014 gang-related retaliation stabbing on Chestnut Street, while a third brother cut off his ankle bracelet and fled.

William Shakeel Point, 21, pleaded guilty in New Hanover County Superior Court to assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy to commit assault with a deadly weapon in the March 12, 2014, stabbing of Edvis Galloway, a rival gang member. He also pleaded to selling heroin to an undercover officer in October 2012. The charges were consolidated and he was sentenced to 33 to 52 months in prison.

According to police, William Point and his brothers Adrian and Antonio Point surrounded Galloway as he was attempting to enter a Chestnut Street market. The three are accused of stabbing him multiple times in the torso and face.
