Giada De Laurentiis visits GLOW students

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Food Network star Giada De Laurentiis is visiting Wilmington this week, and her good deeds started Thursday afternoon.

Giada visited the Girls Leadership Academy of Wilmington, the Cape Fear’s only all girls charter school.

She spent time speaking with students, answering questions, and even signed a few books.

Giada said she hopes the girls see that anything is possible.

“I think what I told them all is that: Figure out what it is in life that makes you happy and makes you smile, and whatever that is, go for it, because whatever that is can turn into what you spend the rest of your life doing,” De Laurentiis said.

Happening Friday, you have the chance to meet Giada and enjoy a meal prepared by her.

She is hosting breakfast and lunch at Landfall, but you better get your tickets quick. Lunch is sold out and there are only a few left for breakfast.

The proceeds benefit GLOW Academy.
