Charges dropped for woman accused of hoarding ducks

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A judge dismissed the case against Cynthia Huber, the woman who faced animal cruelty charges after law enforcement seized more than a 150 of ducks from her property.

The judge denied a request by the state to continue the case because veterinarians needed to testify were not available.

Huber was charged last December with 9 counts of cruelty to animals, dog/cat/ferret/vaccination requirement, and misuse of 911.

The ducks will remain at the Skywatch Bird Sanctuary.

Officers can re-file charges in the case.
