Report: Demi Lovato hospitalized for heroin overdose

Demi Lovato suffered a heroin overdose and has been rushed to the hospital, according to TMZ.

Lovato was taken to the hospital just before noon pacific time, the publication reports. In the past, she has discussed her ongoing battle with substance abuse and was six years sober from cocaine.

The Los Angeles Police Department told USA TODAY that at 11:37 a.m., authorities received a call from the 8000 block of Laurel View Drive. “We had a call out for possible overdose for a female approximately 25 years of age,” said Officer Ray Brown.

LAPD would not confirm the woman’s identity. Lovato is 25 and owns a home in that area.

She recently released a song titled “Sober” and opened up about losing her sobriety and falling off the wagon.

In the song, Lovato apologizes to her parents and friends who have been with her throughout her journey to sobriety for not being sober anymore.

Several celebrities are posting on Twitter to wish the singer well.

Lovato’s condition is not yet known.
