Remembering Paige Merical: Father, others talk about ‘our miracle,’ her gift of life

GREENVILLE, Pitt County (WCTI)— Paige Merical was described as a beautiful, wonderful, vibrant young lady on the cusp of graduation and a big life in front of her.

A special ceremony was held Friday at the chapel of Vidant Medical Center in Greenville for the 17-year-old who was caught up in the rough waters of Emerald Isle during a storm that was hitting Eastern N.C. on April 19. Friday was the end to a heartbreaking week for the Merical family.
