2026 WWAY Health Fair: Neurologist discusses importance of rapid stroke care

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Dr. Thomas Stout, a neurologist with Novant Health, spoke with WWAY ahead of the 2026 WWAY Health Fair on Jan. 29.

In the interview, Dr. Stout discussed what a stroke is and why it is a medical emergency. He explained the BE FAST mnemonic to help viewers recognize symptoms, emphasized the importance of calling 911 immediately, and shared how rapid treatment can improve recovery and protect the brain.
