2026 WWAY Health Fair: Tips on recognizing and addressing uterine fibroids

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Dr. Somya Navejar, an obstetrician and gynecologist with Novant Health, sat down with WWAY’s Tomika Jackson ahead of the 2026 WWAY Health Fair on Jan. 29.

In the interview, Dr. Navejar discussed uterine fibroids, a common condition affecting many women. She covered what symptoms should prompt a conversation with an OB-GYN, who may be at higher risk for developing fibroids, the treatment options available, and when urgent care may be needed. She also encouraged women to advocate for their reproductive health and seek guidance from their healthcare providers.
