Head football coaching vacancy at South Columbus High

TABOR CITY, NC (WWAY) —  Kyle Hutchison has been the head coach at South Columbus High School the last two seasons, but Hutchison will not be the head coach of the Stallions in 2016. He’s been reassigned within the Columbus County School System. Hutchison told WWAY on Tuesday afternoon that he’ll be teach at Nakina Middle School and he doesn’t have any plans to work with the football program at South Columbus.

During his two years at South Columbus the Stallions had an 11-3 conference record. In fact the Stallions claimed a share of the Three Rivers Conference title last month when they beat Whiteville in the regular season finale.

Eddie Beck is the South Columbus principal. Willie Gore is the South Columbus director of athletics. They’ll both play a big part in the hiring process for the new head coach at South Columbus.
