Kids toast and celebrate 2016 a little early
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — 2016 is only a few hours away, but that can be a little too late for some.
Kids and families celebrated at the Children’s Museum of Wilmington at a more decent hour earlier today.
New Year’s Noon is an annual event at the museum that features a countdown to the start of the new year.
Kids were able to toast with juice, make a party crown, streamer sticks, and glittery slime.
The event ended at noon with an huge confetti toss in the courtyard where families with kids of all ages gathered to celebrate.
“A great event for the whole family,” said Early Childhood Educator Mary Ellen Laughnan. “We got lots of folks who made this an annual tradition. They come every year to celebrate.”
In case you missed it today, it will all happen again New Year’s Day from 9AM to noon.
Admission is just under ten bucks or absolutely free if you’re a museum member.
