2nd black box recovered from downed EgyptAir aircraft

A second flight data recorder of the downed EgyptAir plane that killed 66 people on board has been recovered from the Mediterranean, according to Egyptian investigators.

The Egyptian Ministry said crews searching for the wreckage pulled the recorder from the Mediterranean Sea, a day after recovering the first cockpit voice recorder, according to a statement released Friday.

Officials said the two voice recorders have been handed over to the technical investigation committee to carry out analysis and unload the voice conversations.

EgyptAir Airbus A320 was flying to Cairo from Paris when it crashed on May 19 between the Greek island of Crete and the Egyptian coast.
