2nd positive rabies case found in Bladen County

BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Bladen County Health Department has identified a second rabies case on Wednesday.

A domestic cat was showing strange behaviors, which caused the Bladen Animal Control to be contacted. The cat was confirmed by the officers and was located near the Mercer Mill Brown Marsh and Box Wood Drive intersection in Elizabethtown.

Rabies is a fatal yet preventable disease if post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) is administered. You may contact the Bladen County Health Department at 910-862-6900.
