3 people drown at Lake Norman

TROUTMAN, NC (AP) — Emergency medical personnel in Iredell County say three people have drowned in Lake Norman.

Multiple media outlets reported that the body of a 50-year-old woman was found in the water at Lake Norman State Park near Troutman on Sunday evening.

A dive team later found an 11-year-old child and a man, WBTV said. Their names have not been released.

Two adults and a five-year-old were taken to a nearby hospital where they were in stable condition

No details have been released on what happened but they say the deaths were not boating related.
