#ThisIsThePlace: ‘Potty Patrol’ hopes to flush away cancer

ELIZABETHTOWN, NC (WWAY) — If you have driven around in Bladen County recently then you have probably spotted a purple potty in some yards.

The group behind it all are known as the “Potty Patrol” and they are trying to flush away cancer.

The purple potties are used to raise money for the organization Relay for Life to help find fight against cancer.

The group has been doing it for three years and last year they raised more than $20,000.

Each person of the “Potty Patrol” has had a family member suffered from cancer.

The Relay For Life of Bladen County will host a fundraising event Saturday May 7 starting at 11 a.m. at Elizabethtown Middle School field.
