Lara Trump speaks to women voters in Wilmington
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Lara Trump, daughter-in-law of presidential candidate Donald Trump, returned to her hometown of New Hanover County today to speak to a crowd of predominantly women voters.
“He cares about women. And I think you don’t hear that a lot,” Trump said. “You hear he’s got a woman problem. Everybody asks me that. Well how does he feel about women? Are you kidding me? He knows who runs the show.”
She said he has the best interests of all Americans at heart, and that includes women. She said that one way he will look out for women is by providing job opportunities that will help support working moms and other women in the workforce.
“I certainly think he is for women. He has our best interests in mind,” said Gayle Ward a female Trump supporter.
Some said the idea that Trump was not for women in the first place was a spin by the Clinton campaign to sympathize with female voters.
“I think he is a candidate who has been hitting the points that republicans, democrats, independents have not touched in decades. We’ve allowed our government to be where it is today, the over spending, the $19 trillion in debt,” said Donna Jordan, also a Trump supporter.
