4 college students dead in NC car crash

ROCKY MOUNT, NC (AP) — Four students at North Carolina Wesleyan College have been identified as the victims in a wreck in front of the campus in Rocky Mount.

Multiple media outlets reported that the wreck was reported about 8:30 p.m. Monday.

Police said the victims were 19-year-old Donesha Scott of Raleigh; 20-year-old Robyne St. Claire Barnes of Conway; 20-year-old Kandis McBride-Jones of Littleton; and 20-year-old Quedeshia Brown of Henderson.

Police said all four of those killed were in the same vehicle. The driver of the second car was taken to UNC Nash Hospital with injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening. That driver’s name has not been released.

The cause of the wreck is still under investigation.

The school canceled classes Tuesday. School president Dewey Clark said the campus is mourning.
