4-month long drug investigation leads to arrest in Carolina Beach

CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — After a 4-month long investigation, a Carolina Beach man is now facing several drugs charges.

Officers with the Carolina Beach Police Department and Kure Beach Police Department executed a search warrant at 300 Florida Ave. and found drugs. Michael Spaugh was then arrested on multiple charges.

Spaugh, 45, is charged with 3 Counts of Sell/Deliver Heroin, 4 Counts of Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell or Deliver Heroin, 4 Counts of Maintaining a Dwelling for the Use/Sale of a Controlled Substance, 1 Count of Possession of Methamphetamine, 1 Count of Simple Possession of a Schedule 2 Controlled Substance, and 3 Counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Spaugh was placed on a $500,000 secured bond and is in the New Hanover County Jail.

The investigation is on-going.
