5-month-old released from hospital after heart transplant

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A baby who received a heart transplant just 12 days ago has been released from the hospital. Hannah Dombroski got her new heart two weeks ago after doctors discovered she had an inoperable tumor in February.

Hannah’s parents say her recovery is remarkable and that the 5-month-old should be able to come home to Wilmington within the next two weeks. For safety reasons, Hannah must stay in the Durham area until she is fully cleared by doctors.

Fundraisers for Hannah’s care and medication continue this weekend with a poker tournament at Britt’s Motorsports this Sunday.
