7th graders talk about careers in the medical field

SUPPLY, NC (WWAY) — In Brunswick County, some 7th graders at Cedar Grove Middle School met with medical professionals from Novant Health to talk about career options.

You may think 7th grade is too young to know what you want to be when you grow up, but science teacher Ami Thompson said it’s never too early to start preparing kids for the future.

“The careers that these students are going to have available to them are things that we might not even know about yet. Things change with science continuously,” said Thompson.

Students got a chance to ask questions about what working at the hospital is like, all within their curriculum of learning about the human body’s systems and how they work together to sustain flight.
