911 calls from Onslow Co. woman who shot, killed mom released
The 911 calls from a Hubert woman who allegedly shot and killed her mother at a condominium complex in Cedar Point last week have just been released.
April Harvey, 56, is accused of shooting and killing her 77-year-old mother, Evelyn Mary Harvey, over a financial dispute. Deputies found her mother dead in her home at “The Villas at Megan’s Bay” as a result of a single gunshot wound to the head.

Detectives with the Carteret County Sheriff’s Office arrested April Lynn Harvey, 56, around 6:40 a.m. on Friday, April 6, 2018. She made the first 911 call to report the incident to authorities.
Based on the phone call, Onslow County deputies responded to April Harvey’s home, while Carteret County deputies responded to Evelyn Harvey’s home, where they found her body.
Officials recovered the .357 caliber revolver, reportedly used in the homicide, near the Swansboro-Cedar Point Bridge.
Harvey was charged with one open count of murder and placed in the Carteret County Jail under no bond. Harvey made her first court appearance on Monday, April 9, 2018. District Attorney Scott Thomas asked the judge to keep Harvey under no bond. Her next court date is scheduled for May 11, 2018.
