Sailor surprises triplets at Wilmington school
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Triplets at Anderson Elementary School got a big surprise this morning. Their father, Andreas Heppner, came home early from serving overseas in the US Navy.
The surprise started out as a normal Skype call with their father. They talked about the weather, how school was going, and what time is was where they thought he was in Africa. Little did Chris, Cooper, and Maggie know their dad was just across the hall, ready to see his kids again after eight months away.
Chris and Cooper jumped into their dad’s arms while Maggie could only cry in shock as she hugged her father. Heppner could not keep from smiling as the hugs and kisses continued to pour in.
“I was like Maggie … speechless. It was a great, great morning. It’s different than seeing them on video,” said Heppner.
Chris, Cooper, and Maggie got to leave school early today, so they and their little sister Charlie could spend the afternoon catching up with dad.
