911 calls released in hit-and-run

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — 911 calls released in a hit-and-run involving a 74-year-old woman are revealing the shock when the driver took off.

Wilmington Police are still looking for the driver of the white pickup truck on this surveillance video hitting the woman in the parking lot of the Food Lion on Independence Blvd. March 25 at around 4:15 p.m.

You can hear a woman helping the victim in the 911 call.

911 Dispatcher: “Is it in the parking lot?”
Caller: “Yes, right in front of the store … Where did the guy go? He did. Oh my God.”
911 Dispatcher: “What happened?”
Caller: “The man that hit her just drove off in a  pickup truck”

The truck is an older model, white, Chevrolet pickup truck. Wilmington Police have said the victim was not seriously injured.
