Residents warned of possible scam artist

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are warning residents to be on the lookout for a possible scam artist.

They say a man is going through neighborhoods begging for money and that he’s believed to have a history of committing fraud. Residents say his story ranges from being locked out of his house to his car is broken down.

Police say he’s a white male in his late 30s, with a shaved head and numerous tattoos. He’s been seen around Mill Creek and Lighthouse apartments, Lake Shore Drive,  Lincoln Forest, Robin Hood Road and Sweet Briar Road.
