Wheelchair-bound boy scores touchdown for team

WESTFORD, Mass. (WHDH/WCVB) — A Westford boy with a big love for football got to help his team in their first game this season despite being in a wheelchair.

Matthew Davidopoulos, 6, was born with spinal muscular atrophy. Doctors told his parents most children with this diagnosis do not live past 2 years old.

Matthew attended practice for the Westford Junior Ghosts recently and Coach David Silton said he decided to give him a chance to play with his friends.
