Mother, infant daughter rescued from SC rooftop by Coast Guard crew
HUGER, S.C. (WCIV) — A Coast Guard air crew rescued a mother and her infant daughter from the roof of their flooded home in Huger, S.C. early Sunday morning.
Cristi Mueller and 15-month-old Kailynn Walts were stranded due to heavy rain and flooding. Coast Guard officials say both mother and child are in good condition with no injuries.
Officials say they were called in before 6:30 a.m. Sunday after Mueller reported being stranded in their home due to severe flooding in the neighborhood. A crew from Air Station Savannah was launched. The mother and daughter were hoisted into the helicopter and taken to the Mount Pleasant Regional Airport.
