Police: Woman stole ambulance from Charlotte hospital

CHARLOTTE, NC (AP) — A woman has been charged with stealing an ambulance from a Charlotte hospital.

WCNC-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1YNFsYE) that security cameras caught 36-year-old Autumn Prieschl getting behind the wheel of Ambulance #47 around 10 p.m. Thursday at Carolinas Medical Center.

The ambulance had a GPS tracker, so police were able to stop it. A spokesman for MEDIC says crews often leave keys in their trucks so they can get to an emergency quickly.

Prieschl has been charged with larceny of a motor vehicle and trespassing. It wasn’t known if she had an attorney.
