Wilmington Police investigating after two people injured in shooting

WILMINGTON (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are investigating a shooting that left two people critically injured Wednesday morning.
It happened around 5:00 a.m. on Calhoun Drive. Police arrived and found two people suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were transported to Novant Regional Medical Center and are in critical condition, WPD said.
Investigators say they determined the shooting was a result of a drug transaction.
Detectives are still actively following up on leads and gathering information and are unable to release the identify of anyone involved at this time.
