Humpday Health: Vitamins and supplements


WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — For many when you think of a healthy lifestyle you think of exercising and eating well. But what about vitamins?

“Our real goal is to help people meet their nutritional goals,” said Vitamin World store manager Mary Crim. “It’s bridging the gap between what you eat and what your body needs.”

The folks at Vitamin World said everyone should at least take a multi-vitamin to keep their bodies going strong. But for folks looking to reach goals, a vitamin and supplement program might help you feel better and make those healthier lifestyle changes.

“A program is three or four different things you can put together that kinda stack on top of one another in order to help somebody achieve their goals,” said assistant store manager Chris Ledbetter.

It’s never too soon to start thinking about a vitamin program.

“You need to take care of yourself now while you’re young, when I have young people that I’m working with, because when you get to be older any times you robbed from the bank for what your body needed comes back to haunt you,” Crim said.

There are vitamins made specifically for different age groups, genders, goals, and lifestyles.

“Weight management is probably the number one solution that people want answers to,” Ledbetter said.

He adds things like pre-workout supplements can help boost energy while protein heavy supplements can help with recovery.
