Starway Village site prep and demolition underway; official groundbreaking coming soon
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Several months after bonds covering the first two phases were approved by the City of Wilmington, work has officially begun on the Starway Village affordable housing project.
Located on Carolina Beach Road, the 238-apartment project will be built on the site of the former Starway Flea Market.
Currently, the site is being demolished, with pieces of pavement being removed, along with trees throughout the lot being cut down and shredded.
There will be an official groundbreaking in early 2024 and construction will take between 16 and 18 months.
WWAY reached out to the project’s developer, Kelley Development Company, but did not hear back.
