Wilmington getting second Target store, coming to Monkey Junction

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Another Target is coming to Wilmington.

As WWAY first reported in March, plans were submitted to New Hanover County’s Technical Review Committee concerning a major retail store that would be located next to Staples in Monkey Junction. At the time, an email from a Target associate forwarded to WWAY confirmed there is another store planned for Monkey Junction in 2025.

Now, the future store is officially listed on Target’s website. Target says the Myrtle Grove store will be located at the southeast corner of Carolina Beach Road and Piner Road.

The store will be around 128,000 square feet.

It will join the current Target on New Centre Drive.

WWAY has reached out to developers and is waiting for more details.
