Man accused of killing his father in New Hanover County

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A New Hanover County man has been arrested on murder charges.

Todd Marshall Anderson, 62, of Marlowe Drive was taken into custody early Friday morning.

The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office says just after 8pm Thursday, deputies responded to a home on 905 Marlowe Drive, after a family member requested a welfare check on William Thomas Anderson.

Deputies found Anderson dead in the yard, due to blunt force trauma.

Following an investigation, detectives identified Todd Marshall Anderson, who is the victim’s son, as the suspect.

Marshall was spotted walking down S. College Rd. near Best Buy. He was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. He is in the New Hanover County Detention Facility with no bond.
