Multiple brush fires reported, Brunswick Nature Park closed due to fire

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Brunswick Nature Park is closed due to brush fire, according to a post by the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office.

The NC Forest Service is currently working to get the fire contained. Brunswick Nature Park is located on River Road in Winnabow.

In New Hanover County, fire crews had responded to at least three brush fires by Wednesday afternoon. One took place at Figure Eight Island.

New Hanover County Fire Rescue is advising residents to avoid any burning on Wednesday.
