UNCW Softball defeats Monmouth 2-1; obtain #4 seed in CAA Softball Championship

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — UNCW Softball finished off the regular season on a high note with a 2-1 victory over Monmouth on Saturday at Boseman Field.

UNCW completed its final conference series of the regular season by sweeping Monmouth (3-0) with victories on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The Seahawks finish the regular season with a (29-20) record, while finishing (18-9) in conference play. 18 wins sets a new school record for most conference wins in a season for the Seahawks, breaking the record which was set last season.

No.4 seed UNCW will take on No.5 seed Elon on May 8th at Boseman Field. First pitch will be at noon.

The Seahawks swept Elon earlier this season, but both teams look to put those games in the rear view mirror as the quest for the CAA Softball Championship begins.
