Ribbon cutting held for newly completed Carolina Beach Skate Park expansion

CAROLINA BEACH (WWAY) — After beginning work in 2022, the expansion of a skate park in Carolina Beach is finally complete.

The Ben Wingrove Carolina Beach Skate Park is now officially open. The project got off the ground with the help of the Friends of Carolina Beach Parks and Greenways, a non profit who aims to improve the community through fundraising. The plan for the park was to double its original size and expand the parks concrete features to include a pump track, a new mini-bowl, street course and stage.

Dozens attended the event with many young children and adults trying out the newly revamped skate park.
