Whiteville police investigating homicide

WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) — A Whiteville teen was killed in a homicide Sunday morning.
According to Whiteville police, a shooting occurred that led to a vehicle crash at Washington Street and J.K. Powell Boulevard Road.
The victim, who’s been identified as Jaquise Cribbs, 19, was airlifted to Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.
Cribbs later died from his injuries.
According to police, 32-Year-old Kapri Oman McMillian of Whiteville was arrested on Wednesday.
He was charged with murder, two counts of possession of a firearm by a felon, and discharging certain barreled weapons into occupied property.
He is currently being held at the Columbus County Law Enforcement Center without bond for the murder.
However, he did receive at 100-thousand-dollar bond on the firearm by a felon charges.
