Teacher of the Week: Sara Hribar

BELVILLE, NC (WWAY) — Sara Hribar makes a point of letting her students know they are important and loved in her classroom.  Her attitude is what helps her kids thrive at Belville Elementary School and is why she is the WWAY Michael and Son Teacher of the Week.

Teaching her students to be good people is as important to Ms. Hribar as teaching her lesson plans. “I just want them to be good people,” she says, “We really talk about kindness all the time.”

Ms. Hribar says her students inspire her and make her lover her work.  “I think they are important and they matter,” she says when describing her teaching style.  “I want them to know they can make a difference.”  She also says “they already act like little adults.”  In fact, her class planned and threw her a birthday party all by themselves.

When they leave her class, Ms. Hribar says it’s most important that they know “they need to stand up for themselves and do what’s right.”
