Trooper helps deliver baby on side of busy NC road

RALEIGH, NC (WNCN) — A sergeant with the Highway Patrol was called into action for some unexpected roadside assistance on Monday in Raleigh.

Sgt. W. C. Johnson was traveling down Capital Boulevard near Highwoods Boulevard around 7:45 a.m. when he saw a SUV with its flashers on in the median.

As Johnson approached the stoplight, the driver of the SUV began to wave down the trooper and yelled “I need your help she’s having a baby!”
