Wilmington teen charged with murder after father fatally shot inside home

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police Department responded to reports of gunshots early Saturday morning.

Around 12:30 am, WPD responded to the 200 block of Colonial Drive after gunshots were reportedly heard from inside a nearby residence.

When officers arrived,  they quickly located and detained the suspect without incident.

While other officers were clearing the home, they found an adult male upstairs. The victim, Michael White was pronounced dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

19-year-old Camden White of Wilmington has been charged with Second Degree Murder in connection to the fatal shooting. White is currently being held without bond at the NHSO Detention Center.

The suspect and victim were determined to be father and son.

This is an active ongoing investigation.
