North Carolina native working Super Bowl security with his K-9 Watson


RALEIGH, NC (WNCN) — North Carolina natives Todd Gurley and Keion Crossen are sure to stand out on the field during Super Bowl LIII, but two Raleigh natives will be making a big impact outside of the lines in the pinnacle of their career.

Everywhere you look in Atlanta it’s easy to get caught up in the glitz and glamour of the Super Bowl.

“There is a tremendous pressure to be the home of the Super Bowl and be in a beautiful new stadium,” said Scott Jenkins, general manager of Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

However, the real pressure is behind the people who are working behind the scenes like Jeff Beckwith and his K-9 Watson.

“We’re down there to be vigilant, be aware, and keep the public safe,” said Jeff Beckwith of Stealth Vigilance.

Big moments and big games are nothing new to Watson.

“It’s a huge event, but really it’s just another day for the dogs,” said Beckwith. “Even me just getting dressed each day with the clothes I’m putting on he knows he’s going to work and he’s going to have fun that day.”
