SOUTHPORT, NC (WWAY) — The Southport Board of Aldermen unanimously voted to appoint Interim City Manager, Noah Saldo, to the permanent city manager position.

Saldo started with the City of Southport in August 2024 as City Clerk and was appointed Interim City Manager in February 2025.

Saldo remarked, “I am grateful to the Mayor and the Board of Aldermen for their continued trust and confidence in me to serve as the permanent City Manager of our great City of Southport.

“Over the past few months, we have made significant progress in moving our City forward and building a community that works for everyone. But this progress is not the result of my efforts alone. It reflects the hard work and dedication of our city employees, the collaboration with the Board of Aldermen, the contributions of our advisory boards and committees, the tireless support of our volunteers, and the ongoing engagement of our entire community.

“Together, we will continue to advance key projects, deliver the critical services our residents rely on, and strengthen the foundation of our City’s future. With unity, shared vision, and a deep commitment to service, we will keep building a thriving coastal community — and ensure that Southport continues to thrive as a beloved coastal city where people want to live, work, and visit.”
