Drug investigations lead to multiple arrests in Columbus County

EVERGREEN, NC (WWAY) — The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office says three people are behind bars after an investigation into illegal narcotics distribution and firearm possession in the Evergreen and Boardman communities.

The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office says on Thursday, deputies with the Vice/Narcotics Unit executed multiple search warrants at three locations with support from the Special Operations Division, ATF Task Force, SWAT, and other units. The operation followed numerous complaints from residents about suspected drug trafficking in the area. Detectives conducted undercover operations and surveillance before securing the warrants.

As a result, deputies seized narcotics, firearms, and other evidence. Three people were arrested:

Anthony Ward, of Ward Village Dr, is charged with possession of firearms by a convicted felon. His bond is $50,000 secured.

Antonio Ward, also of Ward Village Dr, is charged with trafficking in MDA/MDMA, trafficking in cocaine, possession with intent to sell and distribute marijuana, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, animal cruelty by starvation, and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond is $110,000 secured.

Antonio Floyd, of Sandy Ridge Dr., is charged with multiple drug-related offenses, including possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and cocaine, manufacturing a Schedule II controlled substance, maintaining a place for controlled substances, altering/destroying evidence, resisting a public officer, and possession of paraphernalia. His bond is $15,000 secured.

“This case began because citizens in the community spoke up. They shared their concerns, and we listened,” said Sheriff Bill Rogers. “When you submit tips, we hear you, we investigate, and we act. Together, we can make our neighborhoods safer.”
