Funeral for beloved family member in Shallotte
SHALLOTTE, NC (WWAY)– Friends, family, and military tuned into the funeral of 21-year-old Seth Condrey at White Funeral and Cremation in Shallotte, who was going to enlist in the army, to say goodbye to Condrey one last time.
The funeral also celebrated the life of Condrey with pictures of him being a baseball loving fan, movie loving fan, and a family man.
Jonathan Cavenaugh, who attended a visitation service on Tuesday night, says he was never the type of person to harm others.
“He was the type of guy that would pick the frog up and move it across the street. He was always that type of guy, very fun and always laughing”, says Cavenaugh.
According to his family, he opened up his home on Jay Street in Shallotte to 31-year-old Joshua Cully Crook, who was in need of a place to stay.
Later that night, the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office says Crook was arrested and charged with shooting and killing Condrey inside the home.
Jaden Zuzak, a friend of Condrey, says hearing about the death of his friend, was some of the most devastating news in his life.
“It broke my heart, and It rocked my world. Especially knowing that he was just married and had a newborn girl”, said Zuzak.
People who attended the funeral shared pictures with some of the fondest memories they had with Condrey, and pictures that best represent him like him being a working man, loving off road truck driving, and being a father.
Cavenaugh says going into the new year, he hopes justice is served.
“It hurts to know someone like him, can be taken so soon. I hoped justice is served for him and for his little girl”, said Cavenaugh.
