Brunswick County Board of Elections begins logic and accuracy testing ahead of primary
BRUNSWICK COUNTY (WWAY) — The Brunswick County Board of Elections officially began logic and accuracy testing on Tuesday.
This testing process is in preparation for the upcoming primary election and is mandated by state law.
It ensures that ballots, scanners, and other components of the voting system are functioning correctly.
Sara LaVere is the Director of the Brunswick County Board of Elections.
She says this testing allows for transparency with the public.
“We need to do this test regardless, but the fact that it is open to the public, we are live-streaming it, if anyone is curious what this process looks like, they could come watch it, and I think it just shows that we’re transparent,” said LaVere.
Lavere says that, in a few weeks, the results from this mock election will be run through the state to determine their systems also work properly.
The Brunswick County Board of Elections has a regular meeting at 6 o’clock Tuesday evening in Commissioners’ Chambers in Bolivia.
