#610 Web Content Producer/Meteorologist
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS NECESSARY:
WWAY, the ABC, CBS, and CW affiliate in beautiful southeastern North Carolina, is seeking a Web Content Producer/Meteorologist to help manage the station’s web and social media presence while also serving as an on-air meteorologist.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Includes writing and publishing stories for the website and digital platforms
- Monitoring news releases and social media
- Enterprising original digital content, and ensuring content is optimized using SEO best practices.
- This role also includes tracking what is driving online traffic and pitching trending story ideas during morning and afternoon editorial meetings
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of AP style and, as an on-air meteorologist, will perform all duties associated with the position, including developing forecasts, creating weather graphics, and regularly updating weather content across web and social platforms. A bachelor’s degree in meteorology is preferred. Experience with the Baron Lynx weather system, ENPS, and Edius is a plus.
