Hardware store remains open as winter storm clears shelves

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Many businesses were closed Monday with the exception of local hardware stores. 

Although, they had plenty of empty shelves! 

Craft American Hardware Store on Wrightsville Avenue was out of salt, shovels, and supplies like a river-rafts and mixing tubs used for makeshift sleds! 

 Owner Eric Korman and general manager Elise Rocks say they’re already at work to re-supply and re-stock shelves. 

“We’re checking to see if they’re going to be able to get us a truck on Wednesday so, hopefully they do have more salt in hand, they got more shovels, so we’ll be getting in all new firewood and all those things,” Korman said. 

They only had one ceramic heater left and another item flying off the shelf? 

Trash can lids used as concocted sled saucers!
