Columbus County Sheriff’s Office identifies subject with public’s help

WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) — The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office announced on Facebook that they were able to identify the man they were searching for thanks to the public.

The man was seen in surveillance footage near the area of Chadbourn Highway and Forest Drive in Whiteville.

The sheriff’s office took to Facebook on Monday asking the community to help identify the man from surveillance video.

A few hours later an update was released that they were able to identify him and thanked the public for their help.

No specifics on why he was needed to be identified were released.
