Children’s Museum to host hands-on Science at Play event Saturday
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Families in the Cape Fear region will have a chance to take part in hands-on science activities this weekend during a special event at the Children’s Museum of Wilmington.
The museum’s annual Science at Play event is scheduled for Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at 116 Orange St. in downtown Wilmington. The program is part of the North Carolina Science Festival and includes interactive learning activities designed for children and families.
Anna Harris, program coordinator at the museum, said the event is intended to make science accessible to younger learners.
“It’s just a fun morning of exploration and curiosity and doing science with even the littlest learners that we get at the Children’s Museum,” Harris said.
This year’s event will include hands-on experiments, sensory activities, and appearances from community partners, including a children’s author known for science-themed content and robotics demonstrations from regional university programs. Organizers said activities will also include exploration of the five senses and other interactive exhibits.
Admission is $15 for non-members and $5 for museum members. Tickets are available through the museum’s website.
Organizers recommend arriving early to allow time for parking in the downtown area.
